The challenge
The client needed a new Homeowners policy administration system built from the ground up, covering the full policy lifecycle with complex rating, digital signatures, and controlled document management.
What I did
- Led product ownership across the full policy lifecycle: new business, endorsement, renewal, cancellation, and reinstatement.
- Designed a multi-variable rating engine with the actuarial and pricing teams, covering territory factors, construction type, protection class, roof age, and credit-based insurance scores.
- Integrated DocuSign e-signature and SmartComm document generation for policy schedules, declarations pages, and endorsement slips.
- Built a document management system with intelligent routing, version control, and role-based access, plus configurable underwriter approval and referral workflows.
The result
The platform went live to more than 500 users at 98% satisfaction, and the work supported pre-sales efforts that contributed to a $3.5M deal win.
