The challenge

Underwriters worked across three separate policy administration systems, one each for Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, and General Liability. Quoting a multi-line account meant switching between systems, re-keying data, and managing referrals by hand.

What I did

  • Owned the product for an enterprise Underwriting Workbench integrating Insurity, DXC, and Sapiens IDIT behind a single Rate-Quote-Bind-Issue workflow, with SmartComm binder and quote letters and Salesforce CRM integration.
  • Championed Gen-AI submission triage and risk scoring, so underwriters could prioritise the submissions most likely to bind.
  • Built a tiered referral and authority workflow engine and automated tax, fees, surcharge, and invoicing workflows.
  • Ran a 40+ stakeholder programme across three vendors with a 2,000+ item backlog, leading REST API contract definition, data mapping, and joint SIT/UAT with each vendor.
  • Defined the release strategy and go-live readiness criteria, and trained more than 500 underwriting users.

The result

Conversion rates rose by 45%, generating $2.3M in incremental revenue, while the programme held 95% sprint predictability and a 92% first-pass UAT success rate.
